We won the series with our victory at the Cannock sevens this Saturday! A great 7's series that was fantastic to be a part of; thanks to the organisers.

Walsall had previously not made it beyond the semifinals of any of the previous events. However their consistency had ensured that they entered the final round in pole position.
Fittingly they saved the best till last and their victory over Stafford sealed a series win with a team made up of players from across their club's teams and a good mix of youth and experience.
Cannock who had previously won the Rugeley 7s comp back in round 1 took second spot.
Stafford finished third with a credible runners up finish at Cannock and to ensure they made it onto the podium.
The 2017 serious has seen 22 men's teams compete across the five rounds of the competition involving an estimated 250 different players. Thanks go to the tournament organisers who put a lot of work into ensuring the events run smoothly together with our wonderful re referees and match officials.
It was also great to grow the women's tournaments with 3 different tournaments with more teams at each event. Whilst we didn't have a series competition this year for the women, Cannock Ladies won 2 out of the 3 tournaments.
We are thinking of refreshing the format for the 2018 season and it maybe there are one or two less tournaments and one of the tournaments may be played in the evening. Any feedback from those who are taking part would be welcome.
